The Course is Open on full greens (updated 24 July at 09:08)

As another year comes to an end, we must say goodbye to our 2016 captains to make room for our new 2017 captains.

The AGM took place on Wednesday 14th December this year and it was well attended as always. This annual meeting is when the captain changeover happens. Peter Benson and Carol Bancroft have done a fantastic job as our 2016 captains, working closely with the club and members throughout the year.

As always, the captains choose a charity to raise money for through the course of the year and they had chosen Nottingham Children's Hospital. Several fundraisers conducted by the captains ended up totalling an incredible £6,285! Thursday 15th December was when the cheque was handed over to the charity at our social event.

Pete noted, "Members of Beeston Fields have been incredibly generous throughout the year, Carol and I were thrilled that in the end we were able to raise £6,285. It was lovely that Professor David Walker could come along and receive a cheque, and also say a few words to everyone regarding the Charity”.

Dave Halstead and Caroline West replace them as captains in 2017. Their charity of choice is When You Wish Upon a Star - a brilliant charity that helps children with life-threatening illnesses have their wishes granted. Take a look at the letter of authority below and keep an eye out for all of their fundraising events in 2017!

When You Wish Upon A Star

Thank you to Pete and Carol for their hard work throughout the year. We look forward to working with Dave and Caroline in 2017.
